Payments
How we take money, what appears on a statement, and who holds the card data. Written to match DPO Pay (Network International), PayPal, PCI DSS, and card-scheme website rules.
Status
Live payment is PayPal Standard Checkout on this website, or a manual bank transfer. The black Debit or Credit Card button is PayPal’s card form — Visa and Mastercard, no PayPal account. The gold button is PayPal wallet. Instant EFT (PayFast/DPO) is not live yet. This site does not collect card numbers.
Pay without a PayPal account
Visa and Mastercard do not require a PayPal login. Use Debit or Credit Card on checkout. That is PayPal Guest Checkout: you type the card on PayPal’s form. DriveReady never sees the number.
PayPal often turns on “Save info & create your PayPal account”. That switch is optional. Turn it off. The button must say Pay Now, not Create Account & Pay Now. Do not type a password. If PayPal shows Log In instead, look under the form for “Pay with Debit or Credit Card”, or use a private window.
The gold PayPal button is for people who already have a PayPal account. South African shoppers who only have a bank card should use Debit or Credit Card.
Who processes
Checkout is one page: email, terms, then debit/credit card, PayPal, or EFT. PayPal collects the delivery address. Debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) go through PayPal’s hosted card form — not as card fields we style on driveready.co.za. EFT is a bank transfer; we email the account. Instant EFT will appear once PayFast or DPO Pay is live.
The black Debit or credit card button is always on checkout. It opens PayPal’s card form (guest overlay when PayPal allows it, otherwise hosted checkout aimed at card). We do not lock the order to a PayPal wallet login.
We do not embed PayPal Advanced Card Fields on this website. That product is eligibility-based and is not assumed for a South African merchant account. Card data stays in PayPal’s hosted card form or PayPal pages.
Card is the lead method for South Africa. The gold PayPal button is for people who already have a PayPal account. PayPal’s User Agreement still requires a published refund policy, a privacy policy, and customer-service contact (email on this site).
DPO Pay, a Network International product, is the African acquiring path from the MKHD onboarding proposal (Visa, Mastercard, Instant EFT, and other methods DPO enables on their hosted page). It is not live on this shop yet.
We do not store full card numbers, CVV, or track data. Do not email a card number. Network International’s own notices forbid sending full card numbers by email.
PayPal Account Optional
Guest card only appears if the DriveReady PayPal Business account has PayPal Account Optional on. That switch lives in PayPal, not on this website: Account Settings → Website payments → Website preferences → Update → PayPal Account Optional → On. The Live API keys on this shop are not a substitute for that preference.
If the control is missing, the account may not be eligible for guest in this country. Buyers can still use Debit or Credit Card when PayPal draws that button. Instant EFT is not live until PayFast or DPO is connected.
Apple Pay and Google Pay
Apple Pay and Google Pay are not painted on checkout. PayPal’s published wallet country lists do not include South Africa, and their wallet currency lists do not include ZAR. We do not grey-out a dead Apple Pay or Google Pay mark.
Stitch’s 2025–2026 SA research shows Apple Pay converting well when a local acquirer offers it in rand. That is a different processor. Native South African Apple Pay / Google Pay / Instant EFT / Capitec Pay will be added when PayFast, DPO, or Stitch is actually connected — not as painted logos.
Currency and descriptor
DriveReady prices, shipping, and receipts are in South African Rand (ZAR). There is no honest API switch that makes PayPal REST Checkout natively bill ZAR: PayPal’s published Orders API currency list does not include ZAR. This shop tries ZAR first. If PayPal rejects it, the PayPal order is USD at a padded shop rate (default R18.50 per $1, env PAYPAL_ZAR_PER_USD), rounded up so the rand sticker is never under-billed. Your South African Visa or Mastercard may still convert that USD amount to rand on the statement. EFT is always rand. Statement descriptor: DRIVEREADY.
Stock
We pack on a weekly South African run. Orders in by Sunday leave Wednesday or Thursday. The courier then takes about 1–4 working days (metros often faster). Most parcels arrive in 5–12 days. That is an estimate, not a guaranteed date. If a unit is not in that week’s run it waits for the next one. Electronics are tested before they leave.

How DPO is used
This website does not take card numbers. PayPal hosted checkout does. DPO Pay / PayFast Instant EFT is not connected yet. We do not integrate the DPO card API or PayPal Card Fields on driveready.co.za.
PCI
When PayPal is live, card data is entered on PayPal’s PCI DSS certified pages (and on DPO Pay’s pages once that method is connected). This website is not a card data environment. We do not claim to be PCI certified as a merchant that stores cards, because we do not store cards.
Disputes
Write to mkdingalo@gmail.com first with the order number. Chargebacks go through PayPal Resolution Centre for PayPal and guest-card payments, or through the card scheme via DPO Pay when that method is live.
